Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Super Smash Bros. Brawl

A Review By Dean Clarke
This review is my personal opinion and should be used as a guide. all ratings are out of 10

GamePlay

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is a fighting game that is like a party with all the best and coolest people involved, the gameplay is very easy to master for begginers its just button bash but as you get more advanced you will find your own character for its and your gameplay strength, depending on wether you are a long range person, fast attack, or slow and powerful, etc. the game plays really well with a great button configuration that makes it easy to use and smooth visuals.

As you progress through the game you really do start to see the hard work nintendo have put in, esspecially when you start unlocking the millions of characters they put on the game, and playing them to see references to thier game, E.G. mario shoots fire balls and links final smash involves a triforce (sort of)

GamePlay =          10

StoryLine

Believe it or not this is the first super smash game with (what i consider) a real story line, even if it is vague, the very basic story line make the game easy to understand and very simple for young childeren and people playing half way through the game, however leaves us core gamers wanting more, the plot is that a dark energy type thing is invading the nintendo universe (now including sonic and snake), making copies of characters to fight the origionals, you lead your character (teams as your progress) through a maze defeating the fake characters, real character and the ocasional boss. Bowser and ganondorf apear to be the people heading the attack for there leader the master hand, however the master hand is being used as a puppet by (i'll leave you to figure this part out, after all its the only spoiler).

StoryLine =    Only 4 :( (but im not really including this to much for the overall result

Graphics

There graphics on this game are beautiful and some of the best the Wii has to offer, the art style of the game depends on the character for example cartoon for toon link, realistic for ganondorf, and massive head for lucas  , these graphics for a Wii game can only be beaten by Mario Galaxy.

Graphics =          10

Replay Value

Super Smash Bros. Brawl has a ton of replay value due to the simple nature of the game its almost all replay value, and with additional controllers (and friends) you will be entertained forever.

Replay Value =          10

Other Notes

Billions of characters :D (okay exaduration alert  )
Character style matchs the game :D
LINK AND TOON LINK ARE IN IT :D (My favorite characters in this game)
Sonic :D

Unfortunatly i could not find any bad points, but thats a good thing :D

Overall

GamePlay =          10

StoryLine =    Only 4 :( (but im not really including this to much for the overall result

Graphics =          10

Replay Value =          10

OVERALL =          9.5 out of 10, OUTSTANDING

Please note that this is my second ever review, any spelling mistakes or errors etc will be corrected if you post them in the comments area

i think story deserves a 10 or at least a 9.5 :D

my reason is that they were able to tell a story without the use of words, and in my opinion, they presented it very well

Yeah i know but due to lack of story i gave it low marks however never really used it as much when doing the overall result as in the story sure you cant let them talk (that would be wiered, is there actually a nintendo character (that you play as) that talks? except star fox) :D but i feel they could have done a bit more, the cut sceens were short and most of them were basically Bad Guy, Fight, Evil robots with bomb. i feel they are going for a storyline soon though, number 1 had no story, melee had a small story in adventure mode (nothing major) then this one had a story but a very short one :D

yupp. I never liked super smash bros. All you did was kill nintendo characters, no wonder mario is at a standstill in the game industry (probably at hospital recovering from another super smash bros injury).

fps has got to be my least favorite (mainly because it just takes a dedicated weekend to make one.) i love all other genres. smash bros. being a total origional style gameplay. plus the multiplayer never gets old!

i never liked gmod lol and yes i make homebrew games. no special licence needed just time (and lots of it) theres engines all over the place that you can learn to code on (my favorite being the unreal engine), or you can built your own engine using C++ or C#

nintendo builds a new engine for almost every game they make :) except for small exceptions where they just made small changes to the engine (super mario galaxy and super mario galaxy 2)

the most user friendly engine in the world: unity3d
the most complicated engine in the world: final fantasy 13 engine
the best graphics engine in the world: hedgehog engine
my favorite engine that i have access to: unreal development kit
my favorite engine that i dont have access to: hedgehog engine

Thats roughly where i would put it, i think other M and donkey konk are closely matched,

So my most antisipated Wii games go:
1. Zelda
2. Kirby
3. Donky kong/other m
4. other m/donkey kong
5. epic mickey

I cant wait to see portal 2, gears 3 and halo reach :D (there are a lot of other games too but it would take to long to write) :D
