Sonic Colors/Colours

Sonic had a rough 16 years. with games that were a disappointment to sonic fan do to bad story, gameplay, and just downright bad ideas (werehog in particular) But im here to let you breath a sigh of relief, because SONIC IS BACK!!!

Welcome readers to my Sonic Colors/Colours review!

SUMMARY: Sonic Colors is a fast paced platformer in which sonic and his best friend Tails go to Doctor Eggman's interstellar amusement park that Eggman claims is totally innocent. Well Sonic goes by his gut and investigates.

GRAPHICS: In my last review i talked about how Kirby's Epic Yarn was the start of graphics that could really show what the wii can do. Sonic Colors is by far one of the most visually appealing games that the wii has to offer down to the last detail. Do to the fact that your blazing past it all the entire time, many people think graphics dont matter with this game much. Even when your at your fastest, you will still have time to gaze at this beautiful scenery. Level design was very creative.

SOUND: By far one of the best original soundtracks of the year. The music is energetic and just makes you want to get and S-rank on the level your on, and the new voice cast was perfect. When i heard the news that Sonic and Tails had new voices i was a little apprehensive; but after playing the game i've come to love the new voices and i hope to see those same voice actors in future games. The in game sound effects dont sound repetitive like in Sonic Unleashed. I almost don't even notice it as it fits in perfectly with the game. Excellent job SEGA.

GAMEPLAY: This is by far my most favorite part of the game; but it's also the part where i have the most criticism. I really enjoyed playing this game. the level design was great as previously mentioned above. Throughout the game you find red rings. if you want to unlock all the CO-OP stages and supersonic you need to collect these. This creates a great replay value for the game as you can't get all of them from the start. you need certain wisps to get to some and some you just flat out don't see. The levels are even more fun after the first play-through. Now Sega added a new concept to the game. These little aliens called wisps. They give you power-ups when you collect them. Saving them is also the goal of the game. Now my one point of criticism. The physics are great but sonic is a little floaty when you jump and created quite a few cheap deaths for me.
