Mario Galaxy 2: Review

New postby dclarke742 » Wed Jul 21, 2010 10:05 pm

Okay i'll start by making the sites first review, and i'll keep it short and sweet.

Mario Galaxy 2

GamePlay

Mario Galaxy 2 is an easy to use 2 player game, where a second player can jump straight into the action. And with a balance of easy to use controlls and easy to kill enemys, its a very easy game to play however these are well balanced so just because its easy to beat the first few levels and get the hang of the game does not mean this is going to be easy, with space physics and gravity its self being an obsticle and an ally you will be forced to use all of your game playing skills to complete this amasing game.

The main Gameplay mechanic is simple jump and stomp on SOME (others require different methods off killing) enemys heads to squash them collect the coins and star bits (and the occasional AWSOME power up) and move on, dogeing obsticles and killing enemys until you get to the end of each level and collect one of the 242 stars (yes 242) which will keep you entertained for hours, but sometimes theres a boss at the end and you need to get the power star of them, but don't worry each boss is easy to figure out how to defeat and simple to kill (if your feeling lucky that is).

Gameplay =     out of 5

Story

So whats changed since Mario Galaxy 1, well Peach is captured AGAIN by bowser (who says he just wants her to make him a cake what is it with games and cake?) and you get to ride your little green friend  <--- not that guy, im talking about yoshi. anyway you go to a planetoid object which is actually a space ship which with a few alterations looks like mario's head, so here you are on your space ship, but now what, well you go through each universe fighting off bowsers minions and collecting the fore mentioned stars so you can travel to the next universe etc etc untill you save Peach.

In this game you meet all the characters you know and love along the way from that wierd bee human thing to toad the wierd mushroom boy, and most of the characters you find will catch a ride on your ship.

That said there is one more thing that i did not like, the story seems not to follow on from mario galaxy 1 even though its a sequel and all the same characters are in it (even roseliena)

Story =    out of 5

Graphics

Mario Galaxy 2 uses nintendos famous cartoon/realistic style Graphics, and on mario galaxy 2 with awsome colour and almost HD visiuals it has to be said that this is one of the best looking games on the Wii

Graphics =     out of 5

Plus Points

Riding Yoshi :D
Exelent graphics :D
Amasing phisics :D

Not So Plus points

The storyline doesn't follow through :x

OverAll

Gameplay =     out of 5
Story =    out of 5
Graphics =     out of 5

AND FINALLY DRUM ROLL PLEASE

OVERALL =     4.5 OUT OF 5 AMAZING
