New postby nick0320 » Sun Dec 12, 2010 11:07 pm

hello people of the forum! today i bring you the first of many wii reviews. each day this week i will write one game review so i hope you enjoy! :)

Summary: First on my list is Kirby's Epic Yarn. It's a game where Kirby gets sucked into a world called Patchland hence making Kirby himself turn into yarn. The goal of the game is to help Prince Fluff (prince of patchland) save patchland and also to help Kirby find his way back home to dreamland. This game gave me just what i expected. It's another Kirby game; But this game had its share of new features as well. so without further ado, lets get to the review.

REVIEW!!!!

GRAPHICS: So first and foremost, I want to talk about the games graphics. In one word the graphics in this game are amazing. The artistic style shown in this game is excellent. With the cloth physics, yarn characters, and the smooth character and environment animations this is the starting point showing what the wii can actually produce; but, even with all this said there were a couple points in the game where the special effects were unappealing.

SOUND: I personally enjoyed the music in this game alot. It was energetic and it fit the scenery perfectly. It was a joy to have while playing the game, but there isnt anything music in the game that is really all that memorable. I loved the cute little sounds the characters and items made in the game and they never got annoying. All in all i thought it was a great soundtrack.

GAMEPLAY: It was predictable from the first trailer what the gameplay was going to be like; But one thing is certain, it did not disappoint. The gameplay mechanics are a little different this time around for Kirby. In this game Kirby loses the ability to suck up his enemies. While this is a little disappointing, the new yarn lasso that Kirby has provided plenty of entertaining gameplay for me to enjoy. Now even though Kirby can't inhale enemies and copy their abilities, you can still turn into various different forms such as a tank, a dolphin, or a spaceship throughout the course of the game. And now for the first time side by side coop is supported and Player 2 gets to be the prince of patchland Prince Fluff. While i wish Kirby still had his copy ability, all the new mechanics made up for the loss and provided hours of fun gameplay on clever level design.

CUTENESS: This game has the ability to install unadulterated happiness into any soul. nuff said

so heres the verdict!
