Also, for those that are curious, Art Academy has been selling above Nintendo's expectations in Europe. While that game has been selling out in a number of regions, Professor Layton and the Unwound Future has been in-line with projections.

I hate that sort of thing though, its a waste of potential, i mean they still make PS2 games but i dont think anyone buys them, well i supose it will give people time to save up, and transfer over

its because everyone gets rid of ps2 because its a failiure and sony are dumb enough to allow people (like me) to download scph10000.bin off the internet and emulate ps2.

The developers won't create new games for the DS.

Yeah but some people wont upgrade for a few years so there is still money to be made and dont forget they still make ps2 games

The last game i know made for ps2 was FIFA 11 (trademark) and ever since--- nothing.

It was good, but i dont think it should have lasted this long, and i dont think it was the best system although it did have a good library of games (which was why its wiered the psp doesnt)

from what i've heard psp is way harder to program for than other systems. plus the processor and graphics card arent balanced so it handles models weird. so pretty much developers dont like it for all these reasons. ps2 was easy to program for. and had some great games. i agree its time to move on tho.

Not really, if they go for the DS over the 3DS they have a larger audience (people who own DS's and 3DS's) and its cheaper to develop for

The PS2 was the hard to develop for console, the psp is meant to be relatively easy in comparison. The reason the ps2 is still selling is in poorer countries it sells well due to being the only console people can afford. Same will be true of the 3DS while europe, japan and the usa adopt the 3DS other countries will still be buying the DS.

I'd like to see a DS forum here as well as DSi I've only got a DS lite and I'm feeling left out and probably won't be an early adopter of 3DS mainly as I think the pricing is a bit too high. I think its more likely I'll get one as a christmas present to myself later on.

The thing I like about the DS is the long battery life and it has to be said for a lot of people the 3DS isn't a practical portable because of its short battery life so I suspect with a price cut or two and the DS range's extended battery life even in europe, japan an the us the older models will still sell. The DSI XL is brilliant for those who want a bigger screen. Even though I have a PSP with some brilliant games and its much more powerful than the DS there are some fantastic DS games that simply don't need the power of the PSP.

Well the DSi forum is part of DS, most places just say DSi or DS/DSi now and the games are the same anyway (other than DSiWare)

I saw a game the other day and the cartridge said DSi enhanced but can't for the life of me think what it was. I could google I suppose.

Actually it wasn't a game at all it was the korg synthesisor cartridge.

The DSi has 4x the ram of the DS so its a shame it doesn't get more enhancements. I'm guessing the korg synth probably makes use of the extra space for larger files and perhaps more tracks as its got more processing power.
